Billet Pro Shop 07-14 GT500 Adjustable Aux. Idler
This aux idler is adjustable with 3 positions and ADDS an idler to your front cover. It is NOT the same as the "90mm idler" many vendors refer to... That is replacing a factory idler with a larger 90mm idler (and is not generally the best solution). This aux idler ADDS an idler and is a lot better solution for belt slip. Fits 2007-2014 GT500 with OEM supercharger or aftermarket TVS superchargers only. Includes the bracket, idler pulley, and mounting bolts.
FAQ: Do I use the top, middle or bottom position for the idler?
Ideally, the lowest position will provide the largest reduction in belt slip as it will force the belt to wrap the furthest around the supercharger pulley. However, the belt tensioner needs to be checked to ensure it is in the middle of its range of travel to slightly closer to the tight / "too short of belt" side. Adding an aux idler will effectively "shorten" the belt (same effect as going to the larger 90mm idler, larger supercharger pulley, or larger overdrive crank damper). Using a lower position on the aux idler will "shorten" the belt more. If the belt tensioner is too close to max travel it can hit the end of its travel and either snap the belt or break the tensioner. If the tensioner is maxed out, a longer belt is required (or, for cars running a 90mm idler in place of the factory idler, switch back to the factory idler when adding the aux idler).
